Ceramics are inorganic, non-metallic, solid materials and can be crystalline or non-crystalline. Ceramics possess a covalent network  structure or ion bonding or a combination of the two. Ceramics are hard and brittle but stable to high temperatures. The important products of ceramic industries are building bricks and tiles, sewer pipes, drain tiles, all kinds of refractory bricks, electrical and chemical porcelain and stoneware, white ware,china floor and wall tiles, enamels and abrasives and insulators in spark plugs.
