LIMITATION OF LANGMUIR ADSORPTION ISOTHERM

(1)    The Langmuir adsorption isotherm assumes that the surface is capable of adsorbing one molecule thick layer. But in actual practice there are chances of multilayer formation.

(2)    According to this theory, the saturation value of adsorption should be independent of temperature. But experiments show that saturation value decreases with rise of temperature.

(3) The theory holds good only at low pressure
